Presotherapy is an alternative medicine treatment based on the application of controlled pressure through special devices on different parts of the body. Presotherapy has its roots in compression therapy, which was initially used to treat
circulatory and lymphatic problems. Over time, this technique has been developed and has become a more widely available treatment option in the field of alternative medicine and wellness.
Pressotherapy is performed using devices consisting of inflatable chambers connected to a control unit. These chambers are placed around the limbs, abdomen, or treated area. The process unfolds as follows:
1. Special attire: The patient wears special garments, such as boots, belts, or sleeves,
containing inflatable chambers.
2. Sequential inflation: The control unit inflates the chambers sequentially, applying pressure rhythmically and gradually, from the feet or hands upwards. This simulates a lymphatic massage.
3. Deflation: After a few seconds, the chambers deflate, and the process is repeated for a specific period.
1. Circulation improvement: Pressotherapy can be beneficial for people with blood and lymphatic circulation problems. It helps stimulate blood flow and the elimination of toxins from the body.
2. Reduction of fluid retention: It is effective in reducing swelling and fluid retention, which can aid in temporary weight loss and alleviate the sensation of tired legs.
3. Cellulite treatment: By improving circulation and reducing fluid retention, presotherapy is used in the fight against cellulite.
